Expensive Solutions to Tiny Problems

This post is a little off-topic, but I thought it would be a fun read.

The $150 Fruit Bowl – suspends your fruit from silicone bands to keep it from touching other fruit.

The $5000 Folding Commuter Bike – folds so that your bike fits into a somewhat smaller space.

Cookware Designed by literal Rocket Scientist – this one’s on the lower end of pricy. But it’s still a lot to pay for a pan that heats water a little faster.

The $60 Wifi-enabled Multi-colored Light Bulb – One for $60 or three for $200. Connects to your Wifi network, and reportedly is not very secure.

Electric Portable Cooler with built-in electric ice crusher, Bluetooth speaker, USB charger, cutting board, LED lighting, and bottle opener. A Kickstarter campaign that asked for $50,000 and got over $7.5 million dollars.

And (I digress) here’s a Kickstarter campaign that asked for $10 (ten US dollars total) and instead got $50,000 — to fund a project making potato salad for the first time. I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to give someone $50,000 to make potato salad, he should have experience, references, and a degree … um, in potato salad-making (or a related field).

The 7 Most Expensive iPhone Cases from hundreds of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Do We Need Another Gadget that Tells Us When to Water and Feed Our Plants? No, we really do not.

And now I’m hearing an unconfirmed rumor that some company is working on making a robot whose sole purposes is to vacuum your floors! That can’t be real, can it? What’s next? Personal drones and Flying Bicycles??

UPDATE:
This Home’s Bedrooms have Wheels so you can Roll Them Outside! What!? You’ve never heard of this before? Doesn’t your bedroom have wheels? It’s the latest rage.

Spherical Roomoon tent that hangs from the trees ($5888.00) Great for camping in windy locations! Not really!
